World Steak Challenge returns for 2020 - GlobalMeatNews.com

Now in its sixth year, the World Steak Challenge will be held in Dublin, Ireland, with the results being announced at a networking evening taking place in the Round Room at the Mansion House on 9 July.

The event, launched in 2015, enables steak producers and suppliers to test the quality of their steak production against all international competitors.

At 2019’s event, the World’s Best Steak was awarded to JN Meat International for its grass-fed Ayrshire rib-eye that was reared in Finland. This was the second year in a row that JN Meat International won the top prize.

Also in 2019, ABP Cahir Ireland secured six golds and Ireland’s first-ever category win for Best Fillet with a grass-fed Angus Cross, reared in Limerick. ABP Cahir also won four silver and eight bronze medals. Previous world champions, Jack’s Creek of Australia secured two category titles: Best Sirloin for a pure bred grain fed Wagyu, entered by Frank Albers of Albers gmbH, Germany, and Best Grain Fed for a pure bred Wagyu Fillet, also entered by Albers gmbH.

Check out some of the highlights from the 2019 event.
